Slab Formwork for Tilt-Up Construction
Precision casting bed systems engineered for high-cycle tilt-wall panels.
The Floor Bed is the Foundation of Quality Tilt-Up Panels
In tilt-up construction, the building's main perimeter concrete walls are cast horizontally directly on the cured floor slab, and then tilted into vertical position with a mobile crane. If the floor is uneven or the formwork joints are poorly sealed, defects will transfer directly to the exterior wall faces. Slabform supplied high-strength steel casting form systems that secure firmly to the concrete floor, providing clean, sharp panel edges.
Formwork Requirements for Thick Wall Panels
Because tilt-up wall panels are incredibly heavy (reaching widths of 8" to 12" of solid concrete cast over the floor), formwork must resist buckling under pressure:
- Zero-Deflection Steel Bulkheads — Stiff hot-rolled sheet profiles that align perfectly to ensure flat panel edges.
- Magnetic Anchoring Fasteners — Advanced magnetic base fixtures that secure forms to the concrete floor without drilling holes into your slab.
- Adhesive Joint Closures — Chamfer strips that cleanly split joints to eliminate concrete bleeding.
- Integrated Lifting Sockets — Precise spacer pockets designed to cast structural lifting inserts into exact coordinates.
